Memory Walk 2025 Sees Abbey Staff Raise £300

Abbey staff recently joined the community for Memory Walk 2025, a four-mile route through Burrs Country Park in support of Bury Hospice.

The event gave everyone the chance to come together, reflect, and raise funds for the hospice’s important work.

Taking part in the walk reflects Abbey’s values of community, support and working together to make a positive difference, showing how these principles guide both our business and our involvement in local causes.

The Memory Walk 2025

The walk took place at Burr County Park on 16th August 2025. It was a warm, sunny day, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees. Despite the heat, everyone kept spirits high, enjoying the route and the chance to move at their own pace.

Over 170 people took part, and it was brilliant to be out on the route with such a supportive crowd.

From Abbey, Aidan, Jacob, Matt, Angela, Jane, Hannah, and James all joined in. We kept each other motivated, chatting along the way and celebrating each small milestone as we went.

At the finish line, everyone from our team received a medal, which felt like a real reward after the walk. We were also each given a Bury Hospice candle to light, a simple gesture that reminded us why we were there.

The route had a mix of open stretches and shaded spots, which helped with the heat. Pausing to take in the surroundings gave us a moment to reflect on the impact our fundraising would have for the hospice.

By the end, walking together made the effort feel even more worthwhile. Being part of the Memory Walk 2025 wasn’t just about raising funds, it was about connecting as a team and supporting a local cause we care about deeply.

How Much Did Abbey Raise?

Abbey raised £200 through our Just Giving page, with the walkers’ donations adding another £100. In total, our team contributed £300 to the Memory Walk 2025 fundraiser, helping improve Bury Hospice.

We’re proud to have played a part in the overall fundraising total of £6,611, which shows just how much the community can achieve when everyone comes together. It was fantastic to see so many people getting involved, all sharing the same goal of supporting Bury Hospice.
