A customer of Sterling MH had a highly populated workshop, which posed a large number of employee safety risks. The customer was relying solely on the awareness of forklift truck drivers and training to ensure safety on site. With the advice of Sterling MH, the customer recognised they needed a more accurate and reliable way of keeping their employees safe. This is aligned to their organisational commitment to improving health and safety.
Solution
Based on the advice and guidance of Andy Entwistle, Abbey’s Area Sales Manager (North), Sterling made the informed decision to provide their customer with three, two-camera Safety Shield Systems. These systems were installed onto their forklift trucks by one of Abbey’s expert field service engineers.
Result
Since installation, Sterling MH’s customer now has a much safer site, with the system instantly alerting operators to any pedestrians within the bespoke danger zone. In particular, the system has made the loading and unloading of pallets into racking, transport, and assembly areas much safer for employees. Additionally, Abbey’s excellent aftercare and instant repair service has kept this dynamic AI pedestrian detection system in exceptional condition.
