Abbey’s Team.
Meet the team behind it all. A group of experienced specialists dedicated to delivering quality, reliability, and expert support for every customer.
I feel privileged to lead Abbey, an exciting and dynamic business established by my father in 1984. It’s a living, breathing entity and an integral part of our family, as is every individual in our loyal team who go above and beyond to deliver excellence always.
Paul Saunders
Managing Director
I’m responsible for all aspects of Abbey’s after-sales delivery including our field service engineering team, central parts department, and workshop re-manufacturing facility. I enjoy the exciting, fast-paced environment and solving different challenges every day.
Paul Kelly
Service Director
I’m an out-of-the-box thinker supporting engineers, end customers, suppliers, and fork truck sales teams to develop innovative, and often unique commercial solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and productivity. I lead on new product development, equipment integration and staying ahead of ever-changing industry standards and trends.
Chris Barnes
Technical Director
My role is very broad. It includes supporting our sales team and my dad, Paul, overseeing internal operations, including our new ERP and CRM systems, and being a company-wide point of contact and source of information.
Jacob Saunders
Operations and Business Development
I’m Tony, Sales and Marketing Director. I’ve spent over 30 years in the material handling industry, including running my own marketing agency, so I bring a mix of experience from both sides. I look after sales and marketing here, helping shape how we support our customers and grow the business. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling around Europe and America, and you’ll often find me at Anfield watching Liverpool.
Tony Hall
Sales and Marketing Director
As Field Service Manager, I’m responsible for guiding our engineers out on site and ensuring every project tied to our forklift attachments hire is completed to the standard we expect. Supporting the team, maintaining consistency in the field, and seeing each job through properly is a key part of what I do. A huge Warrington FC fan and absolute love a sunny holiday with my family.
Richard Kynaston
Field Service Manager
I’m Scott Darbyshire, Technical and Quality Manager at Abbey. My role centres on making sure everything we do meets the standards it should, from health and safety through to investigating and resolving incidents when they arise. Away from work, I keep active with regular workouts and running, and I enjoy travelling around the UK whenever I get the chance.
Scott Darbyshire
Technical & Quality Manager
I recently joined Abbey after a long career in customer service across material handling and energy sectors. Here, I work cross-functionally across the business to lead on the delivery of support and service excellence for our customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Angela Owen
Executive Secretary
I look after our stock of custom-made parts, making sure the right components are ready to go when they’re needed. Keeping parts organised and available means we can get them out to customers quickly and help keep downtime to a minimum. It’s a practical role that keeps things moving behind the scenes and supports the work our team delivers every day.
Viktor Navrotskyi
Parts Manager
I enjoy using my company and industry wide expertise to understand customers’ challenges and provide them with solutions, often in collaboration with our in-house technical team. Being able to help customers, meet new people, and build strong, lasting relationships brings a strong element of fulfilment to my role.
Rob Thorn
Area Sales Manager (Midlands)
I’m Mike, the Attachments Sales Manager. I’ve spent over 20 years working in attachment sales, so I’ve seen just about everything the industry can throw at you. At Abbey, I focus on growing sales across our newer attachment ranges and helping customers find the right solution for their operation. When I’m not working, I’m usually planning my next trip or travelling whenever I get the chance.
